What Is a Consumer Show?
- Consumer shows are usually held in large, open indoor areas where dozens --- or even hundreds --- of vendors set up stands. The general public is usually allowed to enter, for a small fee, and browse the different vendor stands. At each stand, a vendor displays and sells specific items pertaining to the company she works for, or the product that she specializes in.
- The main purpose of consumer shows is to bring together a wide variety of companies and people. With consumers directly interacting with the companies, both parties benefit. Consumers get to see all the competition in one place, potentially driving down price and allowing them to inquire about products directly with the sellers. Vendors benefit from brand awareness and product testing, getting direct feedback from potential consumers.
Consumer Show Products
- The products displayed and sold at consumer shows vary greatly, but many times the show will have a theme. The products sold at consumer shows range from boats and RVs to technology, computers, video games, books, cologne, food, beverages and cars.
- Some of the most famous consumer shows include the Consumer Electronics Show, held in Las Vegas, Nevada, each year, the North American International Auto Show, held annually in Detroit, Michigan, the International Builders Show in Orlando, Florida, the Chicago Boat, RV and Outdoor Show and the Great Bridal Expo held in New York City. There are hundreds of others, held throughout the United States and the world, showcasing a nearly countless variety of products.
